WHY CANADA BANS FLIGHT FROM INDIA, PAKISTAN FOR 30 DAYS
Canada has banned all passenger flights from India and Pakistan for 30 days because of the rising wave of COVID-19 cases in those regions, Transport Minister Omar Alghabra said. “Given the higher number of cases of COVID-19 detected in air passengers arriving in Canada from India and Pakistan…I am suspending all commercial and private passenger flights arriving in Canada from Indian and Pakistan for 30 days”, Alghabra told a news conference on Thursday – Canada bans flight.
The measure went into effect at 11:30pm Eastern Time on Thursday(03:30 GMT on Friday). It will not apply to cargo flights, Omar Alghabra said, particularly to ensure the continued shipment of vaccines, personal protective equipment and other goods that are essential.

More than one million of the people living in Canada are of Indian decent while there are 100,000 Canadians who have the Pakistani ancestry.
India
Now, India, which is undergoing an alarming surge being blamed on a “double mutant” variant and super-spreader events, recorded the world’s highest daily tally of corona virus cases for a second day in a row on Friday, while daily deaths from COVID-19 also jumped by a record.
With 332,730 new cases, India’s total caseload has now passed 16 million. Deaths rose 2,263 to reach a total of 186,920, according to health ministry data., Canada bans flight.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER SEX TO A WOMAN
There are many changes that occur in
the body of a woman after sex and below are some of them.
Patty Hajdu
The Minister of Health, Canada, Patty Hajdu said that overall only 1.8 percent of travelers to Canada have tested positive to Corona Virus. While India accounts for 20 percent of recent air travel to Canada, more than half of all positive tests at the border were from flights arriving
from the country, she said, adding that “a similarly high level of cases…have also been linked to Pakistan”.
In December, Canada suspended flights from Britain briefly over concerns about outbreaks of COVID-19 variant. Earlier on Thursday, Parliament voted unanimously to urge the government to ban non essential flights from COVID-19 hotspots where variant have surged, including India and Brazil.
Alghabra said there are currently no scheduled flights between Canada and Brazil, but added that “we will not hesitate to ban travel to other countries if the science bears that out”.
Vaccinations have ramped up in Canada, but health experts say more contagious variants and a failure to take the right measures against the virus have led to a third wave of infections in Ontario. The premiers of Ontario and Quebec asked the federal government to further restrict people from entering.
Doug Ford
Ontario Premier Doug Ford, meanwhile, apologized on Thursday for a failed attempt to close
playgrounds and allow police to stop and question people who were not in their homes; these
measures (Canada bans flight) created a backlash from police forces, health officials and the public.
The leader of Canada’s most populous province, in his first public appearance since announcing
the restrictions, said his government has moved too fast with the measures.
“They left a lot of people angry and upset. I know we got it wrong. I know we made a mistake
and for that, I am sorry and sincerely apologize”, said Ford, who appeared to choke back tears
at one point.
But Ford said that he won’t resign despite widespread calls for him to do so.
He also suggested his government will offer province-paid paid sick leave for COVID-19
patients, but announced no details. The lack of such a program has led to widespread
complaints.
The pandemic restrictions Ford’s government announced last Friday immediately, ran into
opposition. Police departments insisted they wouldn’t use new powers to randomly stop
pedestrians or motorists and doctors complained the rules placed their focus on outdoor
activities like playgrounds and golf rather than more dangerous indoor settings.
Restaurants, gyms and classrooms across the province already have been closed. Most non
essential workers are working from home (Canada bans flight).
Ban
On Saturday, Ford retracted the ban on playgrounds,
though outdoor recreation activities such as golf remain forbidden in Ontario, the only
jurisdiction in North America that now bans it. Ontario has been reporting more than 4,000
new cases a day in recent times and Ford himself, is being isolated after a staff member tested
positive.
Transport Canada’s website states that passengers who depart either India of Pakistan for
Canada on a flight with stopovers or layovers in their countries must obtain a negative COVID-
19 pre-departure test from a third country before continuing their journey to Canada.
This is to
say that someone could fly from Mumbai to Frankfurt, for instance, before continuing on their
way to Toronto-where mandatory 14-day-long quarantine rules still remain very much in effect
for all international travelers.
COVID-19 tests
Of course, many travelers are now choosing to fly into Buffalo or Detroit instead, where they
can drive across the border and avoid the costly hotel quarantine process mandated by
Canada’s federal government for incoming air passengers.
Negative COVID-19 tests are still required though to cross the border by land, as is a mandatory
quarantine, but travelers are not forced to stay at a hotel of the government’s choosing while
awaiting the results of another test that they must for out of pocket.
There is also an issue of blatant noncompliance among people who do land at Toronto’s
Pearson Airport (Canada bans flight) and simply refuse to obey current government orders.
8 SIGNS YOU NEED HELP WITH MONEY
There are certain signs to know you need help
with money. Read on to find out if any of these signs apply to you.
India and Pakistan
Experts are saying that Canada’s new travel bans on India and Pakistan would not be an
effective long term measure against the spread of COVID-19 and that it would rather delay
more arrivals of a potentially more infectious variant in the country.
While the variant has not
yet officially been declared a variant of concern by the Public Health Agency of Canada, health
officials said that they were treating it as a variant of interest and were closely monitoring.
According to Dr. Farah Shroff, a public health educator at the University of British Columbia, the
federal government’s decision to ban travel from such high-risk countries will only serve to
postpone the spread of new variants and COVID-19 infections for a while.
Experts have since pointed out loopholes in the government’s travel restrictions saying that
travel bans can be circumvented by simply flying from India or Pakistan to Canada indirectly
through a connecting flight (Canada bans flight).
